NetPay SET Comes To Japan
Promise Of SET Conference - SAN FRANCISCO, CA - July 18, 1997. Maithean and Intranet Systems announce the availability of NetPay For JapanTM .
Maithean and Intranet Systems, Inc. of Japan have developed a Japanese version of the NetPay Payment SystemTM to meet the need for secure electronic commerce systems in Japan. NetPay For Japan, which is based on the SET v1.0 specification, is a Japanese language version of Maithean's NetPay Payment System with the Japanese Payment Option (JPO) extensions. The system is being demonstrated at the Promise of SET Conference.
NetPay For Japan is a secure electronic commerce system for consumer-to-business and business-to-business transactions. The system supports SET, the Secure Electronic Transaction protocol defined by VISAŽ and MasterCardŽ as well as non-SET based secure credit card transactions; electronic bill presentment, payment and management; home banking; and EDI.
NetPay For Japan consists of the NetPay WalletTM, an electronic wallet application for consumers; the NetPay MerchantTM, a client-server based payment management system for merchants; and the NetPay GatewayTM, a client-server based payment system interface for credit card processors. The system utilizes a modular distributed client-server architecture that provides high performance and low cost scalability. NetPay servers support a variety of cryptographic hardware products for enhanced security and performance. NetPay clients support a variety of public key based hardware token systems for enhanced security, portability, and ease of use and management.
