Promise Of SET Conference - SAN FRANCISCO, CA - July 18, 1997. Maithean announced today NetPay v2.0. This latest release of the NetPay Payment SystemTM supports SET v1.0, SET On A SmartcardTM, and other advanced security and payment system functions. NetPay v2 is being demonstrated at the Promise Of SET Conference.
NetPay is a secure electronic commerce system that supports consumer-to-business and business-to-business transactions. The system supports SET v1.0, the latest version of the Secure Electronic Transaction protocol defined by VISAŽ and MasterCardŽ as well as non-SET based secure credit card transactions; electronic bill presentment, payment and management; home banking; and EDI. NetPay consists of the NetPay WalletTM, an electronic wallet client application for consumers; the NetPay MerchantTM, a client-server based payment management system for merchants; and the NetPay GatewayTM, a client-server based payment system interface for credit card processors. NetPay clients support public key based smartcards for enhanced security, portability, convenience and ease of management. NetPay servers support a variety of cryptographic hardware products for enhanced security and performance. All NetPay clients include a suite of integrated GUI based tools and support applications that provide extended services such as digital receipt management, customer service, transaction tracking, and custom user defined reporting.

NetPay is the first SET system to support smartcards. Maithean's SET On A Smartcard technology not only enhances security but provides unprecedented portability and convenience. The system's security architecture provides full support for the Cryptoki PKSC#11 standard. Smartcards can now be transparently used for the generation, storage and management of SET key pairs and certificates as well as the performance of all private key operations. Smartcards can also be used to provide smartcard based authenticated user login and role based access control for NetPay clients.
The NetPay Wallet has a series of extended features that make it suitable for use at home or office. The NetPay Merchant and Gateway systems provide integrated customer service and reporting tools that assist in the tracking and management all transactions. The NetPay Merchant and Gateway servers distribute and load balance all SET public and private key operations across multiple CryptoSwiftTM accelerator cards. NetPay Merchant server has also been extended to support BIN range mapping to multiple processors.
